MS Dhir is elected as the Speaker of Delhi Assembly

1. MS Dhir an MLA of Aam Aadmi Party has been elected as the Speaker of the Delhi Assembly on 3 January 2014.
2. His election as the speaker was announced by the Pro-tem Speaker, Mateen Ahmad in the House.
3. He was elected as the Speaker of the House after his party won the trust vote on 2 January 2014. 
4. He defeated his BJP rival Jagdish Mukhi.
